WHAT WE ARE DOING
We are organizing a coalition of Hot Springs County neighbors to stand against the “People’s Initiative”—a proposed 50% cut to residential property taxes in Wyoming. This effort is about protecting our community by making sure voters fully understand what’s at stake before it’s too late.
LEARN THE FACTS

What Property Taxes Pay For:
What Your Money Funds Right Here in Hot Springs County
Property taxes don’t leave Hot Springs County—they stay right here at home. These dollars are collected from our residents and reinvested directly into our community, helping fund our schools, maintain our roads, support emergency services, and keep essential local operations running. They are the backbone of the services we rely on every day.

Existing Property Tax Relief:
Wyoming Already Provides Meaningful Relief for Homeowners
Wyoming homeowners already benefit from a range of property tax relief measures, including exemptions and valuation limits for primary residences, seniors, veterans, and long-term residents. These programs are designed to provide real relief while still maintaining the funding needed to support local services. The current system reflects a balance—one that broad, across-the-board cuts could disrupt.

It Hurts Our Community:
When “Lean Budgets” Become No Budget at All
The first 25% cut to residential property taxes didn’t come from excess—it came from the services our community relies on every day. Since then, local governments and organizations have already had to delay maintenance, scale back services, and make difficult budget decisions. Another 50% cut wouldn't trim fat—it would cut into vital services that keep Hot Springs County running.
